Fourth-Generation Family Business Celebrates Nearly a Century of Growth With Historic Expansion
AVONDALE, La., June 24, 2026 — Loop Linen Service, a fourth-generation, family-owned full-service textile rental company serving Louisiana and Mississippi since 1929, officially broke ground this week on a new 62,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art commercial laundry facility in Avondale, Louisiana. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Jefferson Parish leaders, the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO), financial partners, design and construction partners, and community supporters.
The new facility represents a $16.4 million construction investment and a total project investment of $25.1 million in Jefferson Parish, making it one of the most significant capital investments in the company's nearly century-long history.
A Legacy Built on Service and Quality
Founded in 1929 by Julius Sandras Sr. and Webster Terrebonne as a neighborhood laundry and drycleaning operation on the west bank of Jefferson Parish, Loop Linen Service has grown steadily across four generations into one of the Gulf South's most respected textile rental companies. Today, the company serves nearly 1,700 customers across Louisiana and Mississippi, providing rental textiles, uniforms, walk-off mats, and facility services to the food and beverage, hospitality, and healthcare industries.
The company has operated out of its Westwego, Louisiana facility since 1929, and the move to Avondale marks the first new facility in the company's 97-year history.
A Facility Built for the Next 100 Years
The new commercial laundry facility will be located on six acres in the Fairfield Business Park, an industrial park off U.S. Highway 90, and will span 62,000 square feet, more than double the size of Loop Linen's existing facility. Designed by Woodward Design + Build, the new plant will feature advanced commercial laundry systems supplied by Pellerin Milnor Corporation, a Kenner-based manufacturer and global leader in commercial laundry technology. The facility is engineered to enhance operational efficiency, modernize the work environment for employees, and position Loop Linen Service for significant growth as the company approaches its 100th anniversary in 2029.

Community and Economic Impact
The project was made possible through a strong collaboration between Loop Linen Service, local government, and state economic development partners. JEDCO worked with Louisiana Economic Development to secure a $500,000 infrastructure grant for Loop Linen Service through the state's Economic Development Award Program, contingent upon meeting capital investment and job retention targets. The Jefferson Parish Council, through Councilman Deano Bonano, provided an additional $350,000 grant to support pre-development site costs.

Construction Timeline
Construction is currently underway. The new facility is scheduled to be completed and operational 16 months after the groundbreaking, with a targeted opening in late 2027.
