In Loving Memory of Phil Osborn
Celebrating a Life Full of Dedication, Laughter, and Adventure
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of our retired colleague and dear friend Phil Osborn on Monday, September 29th. Phil passed unexpectedly with his family and loved ones near.
Phil would describe his life as having the perfect, blended family. Sharon & Phil share four children, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
His presence brightened our industry and our lives, and we know many of you—friends and former coworkers—join us in remembering the joy he brought to every room.
A Personality Impossible to Forget
He was the undisputed master of maximizing travel points, always ready with new tips and a well-earned upgrade. Yet, when it came to food, his luck was legendary—but not in the way he hoped. If there was ever a menu mix-up or a missing side, you could bet it would land on his table, and he’d meet it with a good-natured grin every time.
If you worked alongside him, you probably recall the moments when he’d peek outside or check his phone, then turn to the team with a “Let’s see what the air quality’s like today!”—a quirky, sometimes hourly, ritual that brought us together and, at times, sent us out for not-so-fresh air and laughs.
Family, Cruising, and Life’s Adventures
Above all, his love for family was the anchor of his life. He spoke of them with pride and warmth, their stories woven into every conversation. Between family gatherings, he was often at sea—an aficionado of double-digit cruising adventures. If you ever heard tales of tropical sunsets or surprise excursions, you knew he’d just returned from another memorable voyage.
A Professional Legacy of Heart and Grit
Professionally, he was revered for his unwavering dedication and persistence. Whether facing a new challenge or traveling long hours, he did so with an old-school style—a nod to reliability, authenticity, and respect for the craft. His influence can be found in the standards he set and the encouragement he shared with colleagues, old and new.
Fond Remembrance and Invitation
Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the laughter, warmth, and wisdom he gifted us. His knack for turning everyday moments into stories we’ll retell for years is a legacy we cherish. We invite all who knew him to join us in sharing your favorite memories and stories—because if there’s one thing he loved as much as travel points, it was hearing from friends near and far. There will not be a formal service, that wasn’t Phil’s style. Instead, please share your stories and/or photos to this email address for his family to treasure: posbornpointsprogram@gmail.com. If you’d like to donate in lieu of flowers, please do so to https://t2t.org/, this was a foundation near and dear.
Let’s remember him not for the way he left us, but for the joy, adventure, and camaraderie he brought to all our journeys.
