AUTHENTIC LEADERSHIP IN ACTION

The Presenter: Kari Knutson, Denver Training Group

In this engaging course, participants craft their own personal definition of leadership. They will also learn about positional and personal leadership and the Six Styles of Leadership by Daniel Goleman to analyze how utilizing this model can positively impact their outcomes as leaders. In addition, participants learn how management differs from leadership and the most important distinctions to consider in order for them to be effective in either role.

DEVELOPING HIGH-PERFORMING TEAMS

The Presenter: Kari Knutson, Denver Training Group

In this session, participants will learn about skill sets that can help them level up their personal leadership so that they can work even more effectively on their team. We will talk about notable traits that effective teams have in common, as well as the most common dysfunctions of teams and how to overcome them. Participants learn how to effectively use dynamic interpersonal skills for improved team communication, conflict resolution, trust, commitment, and accountability.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Kari A. Knutson, MA, is a professional speaker, therapist, and storyteller who takes psychology “off the couch” and brings it to the people. She is an expert in the field of emotional intelligence and human development. Her speaking, training, and coaching work focuses on helping people transform their organizations through developing interpersonal skills and bridging cultural and communication divides.

In addition to training and coaching, Kari has a podcast called ‘Get Big Out Loud’ where she talks about applied psychology and explores the complex ride of life. She also performs in a laugh-out-loud storytelling show that she wrote and directed called ‘Ain’t Never Met a Stranger’, all about our shared human experience.

Kari received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Cornell College in Iowa and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. Later, Kari earned a second master’s degree in Counseling from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. where she also became fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).

Kari lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband, two children, two cats and five very emotionally intelligent guinea pigs.
